The clean-up and prevention mechanisms that have been provided by BP and the federal government aren't enough. The massive Deep Water Horizon oil slick has touched the first Florida beaches, and it's time for local cities, municipalities and even citizens to step up and save our coasts. COMANCO has partnered with GSE for over a decade and is an authorized dealer of GSE geosynthetic products including GundShield.TM
GSE’s GundShieldTM product is constructed with 40 mil high density polyethylene, a dense foam float, galvanized steel weights, and aluminum connectors. GundShieldTM is available in either white or black and in 100 foot lengths. GSE products are manufactured from high grade resin blended with antioxidants and carbon black for enhanced UV resistance. Due to the chemical structure of polyethylene, the GundShieldTM product has many advantages over PVC. Other products such as Quick Containments and Decontamination Pads are available to assist with clean-up efforts.
Due to the current emergency situation in the Gulf of Mexico, GSE has ramped up production of GundShield products. COMANCO and GSE will do everything possible to hasten the acquisition process, so you can have the right materials to protect your coast from the oil spill BEFORE the oil arrives. BP has said it will step up to the plate financially for the clean-up efforts, but we know you need oil booms now, so we are willing to work with you on flexible invoicing. COMANCO can also work with you on deployment of the oil booms; we have over 20 years of geosynthetic installation experience in a wide variety of environments.
